Actually, I would classify your example as similar to case 2.
If the application sends the 3 SchedulingRequests with the *spark* tag as well
as the Scheduling Request with the *myalloc* tag ins the same _allocate()_
call, they will be sent to the Algorithm in the same BatchedRequest and will be
avaiable in the same _place()_ invocation.
But yes, even within the context of the same _place()_ method call, we might
need to keep track of an earlier placement, which might not have made it to the
TagsManager state yet. I think the discussion in YARN-7613 is meant to address
that.
