[~gsaha], does it make sense to bring this fix to branch-3.1 so we can get this
fix in 3.1.1. If you agree, could you help to create a branch-3.1 patch, I saw
many conflicts. Maybe caused by the upgrade patch (I will be fine to bring that
to branch-3.1 as well if needed).
