Sean Busbey commented on YARN-7190:
-----------------------------------

Please include this fix in the 3.0.z line and please change its severity to
Critical / Blocker.

The HBase community will have to direct its downstream users to avoid any
Hadoop version that is missing this fix. Since the folks most likely to be
impacted by removing HBase jars from the application classpath are HBase users,
it seems silly to avoid including this fix for their sake. (See HBASE-20502)

Additionally, [our compatibility policy for Hadoop
3.0.z|http://hadoop.apache.org/docs/r3.0.2/hadoop-project-dist/hadoop-common/Compatibility.html#Java_Classpath]
calls out removing dependencies from client visibility as a compatible change.

> Ensure only NM classpath in 2.x gets TSv2 related hbase jars, not the user

> [~jlowe] had a good observation about the user classpath getting extra jars
> in hadoop 2.x brought in with TSv2. If users start picking up Hadoop 2,x's
> version of HBase jars instead of the ones they shipped with their job, it
> could be a problem.
> So when TSv2 is to be used in 2,x, the hbase related jars should come into
> only the NM classpath not the user classpath.
