Thanks for the review. A new patch is created to address your comments and
checkstyle issues.
I agree I cannot see any reason for the "smart" error handling in the NM Web
API. I moved it to the plugin because it is used only in the plugin, so it will
not affect other GpuDiscoverer stuff.
