[~jeagles] Thanks for the hint on fixedVersion. I see what you are saying and
will remove fixed version, and put the issue into in progress mode. This is
aligned with YARN-913, HDFS-7240 where patches are committed but subtasks are
on-going.
In the future, when people are looking for reason why Hadoop use profile to
make docker build optional, this thread provides good reference to historical
document why we land on this decision. If the code is added to another
subtask, then the reasoning and lesson learn will be lost. Future developers
will not understand why we choose this route. There is no intend to make
either party feel bad about the out come, but hope that experience gained in
this issue can help other people/projects to make well informed decision.
