Ray Yang commented on YARN-9646:
--------------------------------

Which wiki page?

I thought your suggestion was to add an entry mapping my hostname to 127.0.0.1.
Your latest comment seems to suggest that you suspected my laptop is
misconfigured and is missing the 127.0.0.1 to localhost mapping.

Here is what's in my /etc/hosts

[~]$ cat /etc/hosts
##
# Host Database
#
# localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
# when the system is booting. Do not change this entry.
##
127.0.0.1 localhost
255.255.255.255 broadcasthost
::1 localhost
127.0.0.1

plus

The code doesn't try to connect to 127.0.0.1.

> It's because the test uses
> InetAddress._getLocalHost_().getHostName();
> to get the host name and tries to bind to it.
> The machine is issued at work. At home, the FQDN of the hostname is not
> resolvable. It makes WFH more difficult. Even on VPN, somehow the same error
> happened from time to time. The exact cause of that behavior on VPN is
> unknown yet.
