I don't think I was clear enough, sorry
HDFS disk IO takes place in the datanode *not in any YARN container*.
Accordingly cgroup throttling of container disk IO has no effect on HDFS
bandwidth/IOPs. Network throttling could, if it it limited loopback and remote
network load -but anything over the unix-domain-sockets bypass isn't going over
the tcp stack.
