Vinod Kumar Vavilapalli commented on YARN-2131:
-----------------------------------------------

Sorry, didn't pay attention before. "yarn resourcemanager -format" is a bit
misleading to me. RM may in future have more information that is not
necessarily persisted into the state-store.

How about renaming it to be "yarn resourcemanager -format-state-store" to be
explicit? We can do "yarn state-store -format", but cannot think of more
operations at the moment.

Thoughts? We can do an addendum here if others agree.

> Add a way to format the RMStateStore

> There are cases when we don't want to recover past applications, but recover
> applications going forward. To do this, one has to clear the store. Today,
> there is no easy way to do this and users should understand how each store
> works.
