I left it a little vague in the doc. I do see metadata largely replacing the
primary filters (you could even think of it as renaming it). The semantic is
clearer with the name "metadata". I think we want to move away from the primary
filters, but I think it's up for debate whether we want to remove it
altogether. It partly depends on the migration strategy.
