Tsuyoshi Ozawa commented on YARN-3170:
--------------------------------------
[~brahmareddy] I found some additional points - could you check them?
I think we need a lead sentence as a introduction. My suggestion is: "The
architecture of Hadoop has been changed in Hadoop 2. Hadoop/MapReduce runs on
YARN(Yet Another Resource Negotiator), more generic resource management
framework. We call MapReduce running on YARN "MapReduce 2.0 (MRv2)"."
{code}
-MapReduce has undergone a complete overhaul in hadoop-0.23 and we now have,
what we call, MapReduce 2.0 (MRv2) or YARN.
{code}
A following line shouldn't be modified since MRv2 has combatibility with
hadoop-1.x.
{code}
-MRV2 maintains **API compatibility** with previous stable release
(hadoop-1.x). This means that all Map-Reduce jobs should still run unchanged on
top of MRv2 with just a recompile.
{code}
What do you think?

> The marketing paragraph at the top, "NextGen MapReduce", etc are all
> marketing rather than actual descriptions. It also needs some general
> updates, esp given it reads as though 0.23 was just released yesterday.
