Karthik Kambatla commented on YARN-4494:
----------------------------------------
I am okay with asynchronous recovery so long as it is transparent to clients.
That is, requesting details about a completed app should return the same values
if the recovery was synchronous. This would also apply to queries for apps of a
particular type, start/finish time etc.
It might be possible for the client calls to synchronously wait for recovery to
finish, but I get the feeling it might not be all that straight-forward. Given
the option of a low number of completed applications and ATSv2 being around the
corner, my recommendation would be to not look at asynchronous recovery.
