I know this is an old issue but I can't find any documentation on the
behaviour. It'd be fabulous if someone could summarise what the status is and
what's changed here and which parts of it are configurable.
The very first post also mentions a LOG_DIR environment variable but I can't
find any mention of it either.
So what do applications need to do with their Log files to be handled properly?
