Just noticed the following discussion when looking into HA support for timeline
v2:
bq Given it may needs more treatment for state preserving, shall we spin off
the related code change and defer it to a later jira? I think it shouldn't
block our next milestone.
Seems like we have yet to open a follow up JIRA to track the state preserving
work. I'll open a new one and add it to YARN-5355.
