I just have submitted new pkg-bindings package to autobuild (version 2.17.8). The major change is using zypp::ui::Selectable objects instead of iterating over the pool. ui::Selectable groups resolvables of same name and kind to one object which automatically selects the best candidate for installation. The reason for the changes was that the search for the candidate package to install was not implemented correctly and the functionality was duplicated. Pkg-bindings' behavior should be now consistent with other zypp applications (zypper, packer widget...). On the other hand the change was quite large and there might be bugs.
