Chief,
The authors of the so called 'Friends of Democracy' are misguided and myopic. The first folly is to try and equate the ill-disciplined action by Terror of an open Letter to the SG through news papers with the admission by the ANC leadership that indeed Thabo Mbeki has written to the ANC to clarify his stand on the ANC breakaway faction. What they wished for was that Thabo would condone this act of ill-discipline and opportunism; I think Thabo would see all of them for what they are. They Misled him by telling him he was the best to a point where they elevated him above the ANC; they failed to advise him that there was ground swell ahead of Polokwane in discontent of what and how was he managing issues. They even misled him right in Polokwane by telling him they had numbers. Now, they though when they Breakaway they would be creating a nest for him to rest but they were wrong; Mbeki is a member of the ANC and has acted like a disciplined member of the movement. There is no need for his letter to be published whilst I am aware that he doesn't have a problem with its publication. These individuals are either ignorant or they refuse flat-out to think because Thabo's contribution to Zimbabwe is a matter of the ANC and government not an individual. They complain about the strategic objectives of the movement that are in danger of being compromised. When you try to find out what are those they are totally bankrupt. As a matter of speculation their strategic objectives was BEE which they risk not advancing now that the ANC and its allies is talking about investing in education, health, housing and rural development. In these issues which are from Polokwane and expect them to be in the Manifesto next year; for the imposter friends of democracy there is no personal benefit to them and as such it doesn't represent progress for them. One of the myopic views of Shikota and the imposter friends of democracy is the assumption that the young professional are likely to support their personal vendetta against the ANC; this is annoying and irritating because it seeks to say the young professionals are unprincipled and stupid in that they will not see the Shikota's for what they are. In terms of policies and issues for advancement and development there is nothing that is going to emerge; if anything it will be stolen policies of the ANC. May be the ANC must consider patent rights for its policy documents because I cannot see these clowns developing coherent policy. The young professional are clever and shall not fall for this lousy bunch of loosers who have not said anything but talk about the ANC. The fact that Zille wants to attend the convention is a further confirmation that this is just a black DA; the praises they get from Holomisa's and other shady political characters is confirmation that they have lost touch with the majority. It's badly written - illogical and lack substance. One would expert from the supposedly bright SHIKOTA a bit of substance but no, you get the sour grape story! On 10/29/08, kagiso nkhoma <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Open Letter to Thabo Mbeki by Friends for Democracy Honourable Mr. Thabo Mbeki Receive my warm and heartfelt revolutionary greetings unmitigated to you in the spirit of protecting and defending yet again our democracy of our country. Mr. Thabo Mbeki I'm writing this letter in what may go down in history as a stepping stone for continued efforts to resuscitate and revamp our country in line with our strategic objective of a non racial and prosperous society guided by the Freedom Charter, that some deviating from it. Firstly, I would like to thank you for the efforts and energy you offered to help our brothers and sisters at Zimbabwe, to mediate and maintain peace and stability, not for Mr. Robert Mugabe or Morgan Tsvangirai but for the general people of Zimbabwe, it really shows your vision as a leader, for Africa to be a peaceful and prosperous continent. Reason and free inquiry are the only effectual agents against error... They are the natural enemies of error and of error only... If [free enquiry] be restrained now, the present corruptions will be protected, and new ones encouraged. Today ANC, faces serious problems that some correctly to a certain extend would say a crisis, I personally as a citizen of the country I was not happy in the manner which the ANC-NEC treated you, specifically in regard to your ousting. By ousting you without hearing your side of the story whether indeed you had influence in the prosecution of Mr. Jacob Zuma or not, also that mainly their decision to recall you were based on the judgement of Judge Chris Nicholson. Yesterday I was very flabbergasted to my attention by Jacob Zuma saying that you wrote a letter to him, stating your loyalty to the ANC. Who and what is ANC? Is ANC Luthuli house or a flag, or is it the general members at branch level and the policies, constitution and the driving force "freedom Charter"? I ask specifically this questions, to indicate that something is wrong within the party that you allude to be loyal to, the same people you are loyal to, previously insulted you and continuing to do so, banned T-shirts with your face on them and publicly told the nation they don't have confidence in you and that you are the course of the problem in the ANC, that's why they recalled you to heal the organisation, so they claim. If you are loyal to the policies of the ANC and the Freedom charter, there is no room for you in the ANC because alliance economic summit resolute that the policies going to be changed, therefore you'll be loyal to something that you don't believe in. If you are loyal to the disciplined general members of the ANC, then still you don't have a place in the ANC, because they are living the ANC and they will be at the convention on the 2nd of November 2008. You'll be left with Julius Malema and the rest. If you then loyal to the Freedom Charter and the constitution, then still Mr. Mbeki you not going to be accommodated at the ANC, as it proves that some believe that they are above the law, contrary the freedom charter and the constitution that all shall be equal in the eyes of the law, therefore certain individual should be given special treatment, "a political solution on criminal cases". As I believe you don't agree with the fact that some should be special cases in the eyes of the law. Too many people are only willing to defend rights that are personally important to them. It's selfish ignorance, and it's exactly why totalitarian governments are able to get away with trampling on people. Freedom does not mean freedom just for the things I think I should be able to do. Freedom is for all of us. If people will not speak up for other people's rights, there will come a day when they will lose their own. If you are loyal to the ANC flag, then soon the flag will be red and with a star, since the SACP had hijacked the ANC daylight, Blade Mzimande, Zwelinzima Vavi and their cronies penetrated in all the ranks of the ANC to advance their course, and only their course, they are going to drive ANC from the passenger seat with a gunpoint on Jacob Zuma's head and our matriculant of the year Julius Malema. So, are you willing to stay in the cold ANC alone? Further to reiterate my question, amazing how the NEC of the ANC handles matters, When Mr. Terror Lakota, wrote a open letter to the NEC about the issues facing the organisation and unconstitutional manner they oust you, also stating the facts in which the leadership of the ANC deviating from the freedom charter, they blasted Terror claiming is not the tradition of the ANC on how members to raise their concerns by going to the media, and they Insisted that matters of the ANC stays within the ANC. When you comply with the tradition and by using the right channels of addressing concerns, by writing that letter privately to the NEC, without using media and stating your views of loyalty to the party, like any other disgruntled members who are loyal to the party but not agreeing with the leadership roles and decision taken by the NEC. The party bosses go to the media and address about your private letter's contents, because the letter was between the NEC and you, so why do they go to the Media? So it's only correct for them to use the media when its suit them. So they are trying to use the letter you wrote to confuse people and dismantle the new party's progress. But all I'm saying is that, backward never, forward ever! We are going to the convention. My apologies for any grammatical errors, but I believe they would be greater than those of our so called youth leader, Julius Malema. I hope and trust you find this in order.
