I trust that most of the new Shikota leaders have been through a ripe process of democratic maturity, intellectual & high level objectivity and self civility as a result of their diverse background during the evolution of their politics as trade unionists, students and UDF activists. They have come to develop various kinds of tactics and strategies in order to vilify the then apartheid state, but they had also learned skills in order to explore other publicity & credential possibilities by applying the doctrines of morality and ethics. These had worked very well for them from a perspective of the masses that had deep emotional pains relating to the atrocities of the apartheid government.
In their convention this past weekend the Shikotas have reverted to the moral & ethical doctrines again, but this time as a sentimental carrier to the concept of democracy and the principle of the rule of law. They are trying to manipulate the masses using this sentiment hoping to attract sympathy from the electorate, hence the choice by Lekota in his opening remarks to sensationally glorify the "great CODESA days of hope". In his input to the convention, the UNISA Vince-Chancellor, Professor Barney Pitjana enjoyed a massive ululation from the audience by invoking the sentiment of morality in a very priestly manner, juxtaposing it with his ideal democratic behavior against what he currently perceives of the ANC post Polokwane. He also tried to play holier than thou by indirectly continuing to accue the ANC president as a rapist despite the court outcomes. Coming back to reality though, it is an open secret that the Shikotas are desperately manipulating the masses, by packaging democracy and constitutionalism with the fuzzy sentiments of morality and ethics, which are presented without full critical explanations of their context as concepts and thus painting a very idealistic atmosphere indenting to evoke emotions with reasoning left behind. Such tactic is too toxic to imagine, it exposes them of their naked attempts to pump a mud of indoctrination into the ears and eyes of the disparate and disillusioned citizens. Reality will always unmask this veil soon the Shikotas will have to be seen for what they are; disgruntled politicians who at some point had lost touch with reality and their once perfect cozy lifestyles had shielded them away from the consequences of public policy failures they have driven while they were in government. As materialists we know very well that what gave birth to morality is religion as a surrogate of idealism. We also know very well as communists that politics are just utilised as a public platform in order to contest for the state that can easily crush anything against it and equally shape & harness rules and regulations as well as institutions that would then provide an opportunity to serve a particular class interest with all the powers that come with it. It is obvious the class would be ruling elite exclusive class. I also then beleive that ideaslism as some kind of a pseudo-scientific system out of the desparation of mankind to seek control over others has ben utilised very lucratively by the ruling classes througout ages in order to butress and justify the ugly concepts of superiority of one man over the other. I trust that we are able to see through the disguised crookery of these Shikotas in relation to what they are pourpoting to be offering the public and deal very deciseively with it as communits, obviously by embarking on very rigorous ideological campaigns that would move the masses and allow them to liberate themselves from the current process of indoctrination of pastor Pityana and his ilk and supported by the anti-human capilaist state.
