Comrades The COPE issue remains a challenge to the movement and we should not treat it as if these people are not posing a threat whilst they are because if we view it in a sense that they are not a treat where as we still have comrades who are lazy and not filling relevant election documents on time then we have a problem. one thing i have noticed i am not pretentious in saying that i spent most of my time sitting with people who are not clear on political matters but i have noticed that none of them are really taking COPE seriously and they are very clear on opportunism that has been shown by this SHIKOTA. let me share a story i was going to register for voting in the next general election on my way there i met up with my neighbor who happens to be a notorious drunk and who never cares about anything except where is he is going to get his next beer surprisingly he was on his way to the voter registration station, out of curiosity i then cautiously asked him why he does he care about voting the answer was filled with anger and disgust and said "i am tired of these SHIKOTA people who talk a lot whilst they are the ones who were in government when a lot of things was going wrong i want to make sure they do not win". for this man to say such words it gave me a clear indication that the masses might not be politically clear on some matters but they are not fools and we therefore comrades just have to work hard and make sure that such people actually go and vote because they are clear that the ANC is the only organization for them. yes indeed comrades we saw the happening of the weekend where the whole of COPE was present in Bloemfontein for the congress and they we full in a hall on the contrary i saw the rally the ANC had in the Eastern cape where i presume mostly it was people from the Eastern Cape alone and the whole ground was full and that tells me something. and what it tells me is that we are going to win the upcoming General elections with 2/3 majority and nobody is going to stop us so long as we work hard comrades and not make minor mistakes that are going to allow COPE to get an entry point.

The ANC should have disciplened relevent cadres within our ranks for their lazyness which demage the image of our movement. And gave hope to Lekota's tuck shop 'COPE' that they will do better next year in that province. It raising many issues to me who is not residents of Western Cape, that may be this lazyness was some of the reasons we lost Mayorship of Cape Town to DA. We do not want to have this problem again; Comrades should wake up!!! I agree that the name Congress of the People constitute the spine and nerves of the movement, and shall be respected as such. All the disgruntled members resigned from the movement because they were concerned that the ANC has diviated from the Charter which was adopted by the Congress of the People in Kliptown. So their resignation and the ultimate formation of a new party is their path to defend the Freedom Charter outside the parameters of the congress movement. My view is that we should continue to fight for this name and never allow to give people who devorced our movement to continue using our belongings and heritage.
