Fellow Comrades
The public domain is in the fermentation process of electioning by Political
Parties making attempts to garner suuport to topple the ANC-Led Government.Our
Political struggle was not won by neutral people but Class Consciousness of Our
Masses led by the ANC.
Some of the propositions by narrowist parties such as IFP,COPE on
depolitisizing the public service are dwelling on stealing the hard gained
Labour Rights of our workers and the working class in general.We have always
said workers should not be confined the shopfloor issues only as policies that
shape the workplaces have political connections.
COSATU,SACP through our rich History,Heritage and Chronological advancement
have always flagged societal issues on our agenda.Workerist tendencies of
pseudo-unions have never materialized insofar we can remember.The pundits of
our struggle have led workers to many fronts of victory with examples of
NEDLAC,Parliamentary Committee on Labour etc.
We cannot have a neutral public service that becomes conveyer belt of processes
and not become active participants and catylist of the fermentation of
processes to the benefit of the working class.
The notion of neutrality is falsehood banked on giving more power to the
"Bosses" to decide the fate of workers.
Paul Freire reflected the following after interviewing a peasant"The peasant is
a dependent.He can't say what he wants.Before he discovers his dependence,he
suffers.He lets off steam at home,where he shouts at his children,beats
them,and despairs.He does not let off steam with the bosses because he thinks
the boss is a superior"
We cannot subject ourself Now in 2009 to be emotional dependent on poor and
empty rheotoric based on open secret of robbing workers daylight.We must
continue to sit on Workplace Safety Committees,School Governing Bodies,Seta
Councils,College Councils,University Councils,Steering Committees,Public
Transport Committees,Tribal Authority Councils etc.to advance the interests of
the Working class.
Workers must continue to shape their workplace by becoming more
vocal,vibrant,vigilant than before.Each day should be dedicated to
recruit,organize,mobilize the Workers to deliver a Landslide Victory for the
ANC-Led Alliance and ANC-Led Government.
'Attempting to liberate the oppressed without their reflective participation in
the act of liberation is to treat them as Objects which must be saved from a
burning building;It is to lead them into the Populist pitfall and transform
them into masses which can be manipulated.'
Workers continue to sell their labor power for zero benefit.We have nothing to
lose but the chains that binds us.
It is not yet Uhuru!!!!!
