Thank you VC, I have observed this new tendency too. I think this is the work
of dark forces who want us to concentrate on side issues apart
from organisational work.

Let comrades heed to your call and flood the editorial space of many
publications in defence of our movement and its cadres, and not limited to
Independent Newspapers.

It's time to rise against these sinister forces as is it clear that they are
targeting both the ANC president and deputy president as part of
their clandestine agenda to distract us from fighting the enemy - COPE.

The ANC as a major political factor in our country can never be threatened by
the so-called COPE whose existence is merely to counter a next phase of the
national democratic revolution.

Letters supporting Cde Kgalema Motlanthe, Deputy President of the ANC.

Do you think that the personal lives of political figures should be forced into
public view? Do you think that the Sunday Independent and The Star were
justified in publishing details – whether true or not – of the private life of
the President of the Republic? Should we not respect the privacy of all
citizens whether or not they hold public office? How is such information in any
way relevant to the important work that needs to be done to improve the lives
of our people?

This is not the first time. It is clear that both the President and Deputy
President are being targeted in this way.

Should we allow these matters to distract us from the real issues facing our
people – education, health, poverty, unemployment, crime, etc. – issues that
the media should really spend their time reporting on?

Let the media know your personal views on these matters. Write to:

The Star letters page: [email protected]  or fax 011 838 2212 (No
attachments. No pseudonyms. Include full address and daytime phone number.)

Sunday Independent letters page: [email protected] or fax 011 834 7520 (Give
full name, address and phone number)

The Star SMS line: Send your views to 32546 (SMSs cost R1.00)

Domza, VC
