Comrade Sive has said it all maqabane. All that is left for us is to
investigate and analyse what Mr Thabo Mbeki’s stance is when it comes to this
formation of whisky drinking, cigar smoking dissidents of internal democracy..
At this present moment comrades, the true colours of Cope are clear and our
leadership has done enough in terms of explaining these. So any comrade that
calls himself a cadre of the movement and say he or she is confused, that
confusion is deliberate. This equally applies to the leader that hears his name
being chanted at Cope gatherings but decides to stay silent, that silence is
indeed deliberate.
I personally (and as the YCL has said so) believe that Thabo Mbeki is the one
of the sole architects of Cope. My view is that He did not attend the ANC
elections Manifesto launch mainly because he knows that some people might stop
supporting Cope if they see him there.  He knows that his recall is the reason
why some people have left to join Cope, so he would like those people to stay
there.

Subject: [YCLSA Discussion] Re: COPE is a Pathetic Enemies of our Democratic
Outcomes

Greetings,

COPE (Confussion of the People) is really showing itself that it was just after
resources and leadership positions. The divisions in COPE (Confussion of the
People) currently prove that the ANC was divided by those that left for COPE.

The alliance is united more than ever now because there are no more of the
people who centralised our movement to themselfs.

Furthermore, i think there is a serious need for people like Cde Thabo Mbeki to
publicly pronounce honestly where they stand because it's confussing for
a layman to hear COPE people chanting his name.

As much as we love certain individuals in the ANC and Alliance at large but
then people must also realize the fact that we joined the organisation because
of its collective strategic objectives not because we love those individuals.

COPE should also stop doing membership hunting by alligning people to their
organisation without their concent and approval.

Also last night was a clear manifestation that ANC is incharge and will be
incharge for a long time.

Battle for Cope posts heats up
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2009/02/09
THERE is trouble brewing in paradise for breakaway Congress of the People
(Cope) following problems and conflicts that almost led to the calling off of
the Amathole regional list conference held in Butterworth last week .
Cope was formed last year with much fanfare after its founders left the
conflict- ridden African National Congress (ANC), claiming that it had lost its
way, but now it seems the breakaway party has fallen in the familiar trap of
infighting and backstabbing that has characterised the ANC.
The battle at the regional conference was caused by complaints from delegates
that the party's interim leadership was not "consultative", after it
recommended that certain individuals be on the list for the national and
provincial legislature, and:

Several branches had not been given the guidelines that would have helped them
to nominate leaders;

Branches had not given delegates a mandate, and they were also not properly
selected;

Former ANC members were allegedly favoured and non-former ANC members
overlooked for leadership positions; and

Some delegates were not happy with the nomination of people who had just
defected to the party.
Delegates also accused the party of becoming a "family dynasty of the Nkuhlus",
following the nomination of Professor Wiseman Nkuhlu as Cope's candidate for
the post of premier - he is the uncle of the party's provincial chairperson,
Andile Nkuhlu.
Wayne Posthumus led the Buffalo City sub-region faction that called for the
conference to come to a halt when they could not reach consensus on the names
and number of nominees per sub-region.
The battle for posts in Cope has begun, and reports from various delegates who
were present during the closed session said "this fighting is going to get
ugly".
There was an open revolt from the regions against the proposed draft list,
which mainly featured the interim leaders - regional chairperson Thabo
Matiwane, Sam Kwelita, Siphatho Handi and Thabo Mdila.
Matiwane addressed delegates, pleading with then not to allow personal
ambitions to divide the organisation. "We must reject this anti-new members
approach. We must also reject things that are going to divide us as an
organisation," he said.
The conference had to break for a caucus session and new names had to be
nominated from the various sub-regions. Most of the interim regional leaders
did not make it on to the list. The 23 names nominated from the Amathole
District include Mnquma's Mbulelo Ntenjwa and Maduna Mabona; Mbashe's Mthobele
Mthongana; Ama- hlathi's Moses Qomoyi; Nosimo Balindlela; Buffalo City's
Zimisele Sam and Great Kei's Mike Basophu.
Meanwhile, reports of a squabble over who will be the face of the party have
emerged, with one group supporting the party's president Mosiuoa Lekota, and
another preferring his first deputy, Mbhazima Shilowa. The party's youth wing
leader is said to be facing the axe for allegedly lobbying for Shilowa to be
the face of their electoral campaign, to the displeasure of Lekota. - By

Cdes and Cadres of the Alliance Structures,

Let me start by reminding you that the roots of democracy is deep in the
soil of our country because of the liberation struggle that our movement,
the African National Congress, carried throughout the period of apartheid.

Let us not be fooled by people who happen to be opportunistic and mostly
guided by the hatred without moral descipline. People like Shilowa, who
happen to abandon his own kids and even fail to pay for their fees,
wherein the matter was taken to court to be resolved. Willy Madisha should
focus more closely in assisting his family in Botlokwa, he has failed and
he has proved proved to the country that he is an opportunist and a liar.

In the next few weeks we will be going to the polls and it is clear that
the ANC will emerge vicorios, since they hate to be led by the President
JZ I wonder if they would also decide to go and form their own country. To
show that they have accepted that they are losers we no longer hear those
statement that they used to say when they their hearts were pumping high
because of the adrenalin.

Our masses cannot be fooled by people have proven to the country that they
are loosers. It is for us, the members of the Alliance structure and PYA
to ensure that we preach about the ANC and thereby reminding our
communities that the ANC LIVES AND THE ANC LEADS.

It is even clear from our theme that says, WORKING TOGETHER WE CAN DO
MORE, this show how committed our organisation in ensuring that people
inputs are mopre welcome and we are willing to listen to our people.

Cdes let us not forget to remind our people be it at work, churches,
functions to mention but a few , to put their vote where necessary, that
is by voting the African national Congress.

I remain a member of the ANC,SACP, YCL and ANCYL.

AMANDLA,

Phereke MALEMA (Botlokwa)
