** High Priority **

Everyone is talking elections!! Elections!! As an infant student of
Marxist-Leninist theory I need someone to shed light on some intrinsic
questions/clarity I’m having, informed by what Lenin once said
“elections decide every few years which member of the ruling class
gets to crush the people. In elections, political parties generally
compete on the basis of who can best oppress and deceive the toiling
masses”

Marxists often argue that capitalism entrenches itself through state
machinery i.e. the military, police, courts and prisons which function
to protect the class rule of the bourgeoisie and its system of
production. Usually these manifest themselves when our people realize
the evil perpetuated by capitalism, indeed when our people decide to
embark on a mass action against heartless evictions in a land of their
forefathers simply because someone with millions wants to build a golf
course, our people do rise against the privatization of water and
electricity, in return they are met with police brutality though we have
a constitution which protects us.

One is conscious that we have section 36(limitation clause in our
liberal constitution) which limits our rights as citizens. But what
protects our people from evils of capitalism? Can the proletariat use
bourgeois democracy and the bourgeois state to achieve socialism? Is it
ok for Marxists-Leninists to run for executive office given the above?

I’m writing this 2cents with a desire to broaden my understanding on
issues, I know cadres would assist in this regard….
