Comrades,

as much as i understand and respect that what Julius does in his leisure time
is upto him, i also understand what Sello is saying, let us not play the
players, but the issues, now let me get to realities.

reality one, it is a fact that most of us, leaders in our right do indulge in
alcohol and at times sexual activities, i mean some of our comrades have even
went on to identify their girlfriends and woman as per branches, an it is
almost given that in every conference, congress, there will be some group of
cadres under extremely embarasing influenc eof alcohol, now having said that,
what Sello is raising to me, is what examples are we setting, when we say,
Booze is bad for you to the youth and turn in our own spaces and have Booze
extravanganzars, is that not a double standard.

Comrades have a tendency of intimidating each other, does that work for us, no
it does not, because thevery same people that we turn to intimidate, get out of
our ranks and go raise their issues on the street, as the direct result of
that, we come up with phenomenons where the public start having a certain
perception about us.

i am saying this be cause i have been going around doing door to door campaign
on some of north west provinces villages, what i found to be existing, i one
the fact that majority of the youth sees Julius as ANCYL, not as part of the
collective that makes ANCYL, that says, if they were to judge him, it will be a
judgement that ANCYL, perhaps, rightfully so, but my point is, we in the ANCYL,
SASCO, YCL should be judged as a collective, so that should there be any damage
control that needs to be done, it can easily be so.

Another issue, is Comrades we turn to rely too much on ANC be a liberating
movement and thus the general populace identifying with that, that to me is a
short sight because then, at this juncture, we have imaging "non struggle"
youth that is influenced mostly by media and capitalism, the challenge becomes
to us, how do we evolve to stay relevant and appealing to them, how do we make
them see that what we stand for is generally in the best interest of the whole
society as a collective, not some few individuals.

last night i was in the Unit of YCL somewhere in the capital of North West
province, Mafikeng, what is puzzling me, is how fast have be come
individualistic in our thinking, for the record, i do not have anything against
idependent thinking, infact i encourage such thinking, it is progressive to me
to think independently in the parameters of the collective.

let me ask, our incoming president of the country is going around the country
addressing young proffessional, why do you think the NEC feels the need to do
that, my thinking, they are doing that because they have realised the emerging
independent capitalism, that in it's own nature threatens that, the aleady few
resources will be consumde by the few, not the general populace. doesn't that
remind one of the the "animal farm" by George owell, if it doesn't comrades, i
advice you go read it..

my submissions are thus, we have said so many time that an enemy is among us,
we never really said what is the enemy, i say, an enemy is our is our personal
interest and using the organizations to achieve such personal interests, i am
not saying comrades should not have intertests, but i am saying, comrades
should not put their interest before the organizations, it is normal to have an
interest in this or that, but it is very upnormal to persue that interest
against all odds, even in the interest of the organization.

for me Comrades, it does not rest well with me to leave in the country, were, a
clearly politically inactive youth believes that our country's economy is
hearding a direction of Zimbabwe,

my last words, comrades, stop bittering and bikcering about petty issues, like
the fact that Sello was excited enough to mention Julius in nhis email, go out
there and work, remeber,

"alot has been done, alot sill needs to be done"-JZ

working to gether we can do more, we are all foot soldiers, there are no super
comrades in thisa organizationz..

Thee Coach

Sello you are out of order Mfethu because what Julius does for his leisure time
is not of public interest, we gave him a mandate as ANC Youth Legue & he is
addressing the issues as we speak so dont use personal vendettas for media
entertaiment.
