I would like some assistance regarding my assignment about the
Environmental influences on labour relations. Have to find recent articles
(not older than one year)
I have to discuss the impact of four environmental variables on the current
and future labour relations scenario in South Africa. You are welcome to
send me articles from any form of media or source and the four variables I
have chosen are as follows:
Global Economic Recession (which is linked to inflationary pressures and
massive retrenchments)
Current Political tensions in South Africa
Grave Unemployment rates and
Lack of Adequate Training
Although a lot of what reaches the media is negative, there are positive
issues to reflect upon as well, such as greater levels of representivity of
PDI's in all levels and sectors of business, spin-offs from 2010 soccer
world cup, improved health and safety legislation, greater protection of
employees' workplace rights, etc.... (You may provide some positive
aspects)
The contents should cover the following:
A theoretical background on the chosen four (4) variables. What is it?
Why is it important?
An analysis of these variables in the current labour relations
environment. Here make a reference to your current articles and how
labour relations climate affected, evidence of impact and other posible
implications.
A reflection on your perceptions of the implications and way forward.
What will happen if the status quo remains? What needs to be done to
correct the situation/ maintain the current status quo?
