MEDIA INVITATION BY THE AFRICAN NATIONAL CONGRESS YOUTH
LEAGUE NORTHERN CAPE PROVINCE
24 MARCH 2009

Invitation to the Media:

Introduction
The media is invited to the following activities of the
Progressive Youth Alliance (PYA) that are scheduled to take
place in the Northern Cape over the coming few days. The
leading youth formations of our country are scheduled to
visit the districts of Frances Baard and Pixley ka Seme
respectively.
This is part of the ongoing Siyanqoba phase of the
elections campaign as we move towards a landslide victory
for the ANC in the elections campaign. Once more the
message that we will be taking to the youth of the Northern
Cape is that it is only the ANC that has a youth friendly
Manifesto. Furthermore the track record of the ANC speaks
for itself as the only organization that has historically
firmly placed the issues of young people on the agenda.
Youth Rally at Phatsimang Campus
The African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL), Young
Communist League (YCL) and South African Students Congress
(SASCO) will be visiting the province as from Friday (27

party as stated above.
The entire National Working Committee of the ANCYL will be
in Kimberley where it will also host its meeting.
A youth rally will also be hosted at Phatsimang Campus and
it will take place as follows;

Students, young people and everyone else are welcome to
attend and listen to the genuine leaders of young people of
South Africa and their formations speak to the nation.
Visit of ANC YL to Orania
The NWC of the Youth League led by President Malema is also
scheduled to visit Orania to have a dialogue with the Youth
of the Freedom Front +. This is part of the ongoing
programme of the Youth League to engage with minorities as
part of the initiative to build one nation and a common
sense of patriotism.
The ANC YL sees it as part of its historic mission to unite
all people black and white, and is an uncompromising
proponent of the Freedom Charter that “South Africa belongs
to all who live in it...”
