Just honestly seeking clarity comrades. Is SAUS not meant to be the Union of SRCs of South African based institutions of higher learning? If, yes, is serving in the SRC coupled with being a registered student (anyway one can not be an SRC without being registered discounting the vacation periods) in the time of being elected not , amongst others, a prerequisite for being a voting delegate and standing for any position? If yes, can any comrades forward me with clarity as to which DUT SRC does the Deputy President belong to? or is he an honorary member (if such does exist but the last time I checked it does not) of DUT SRC given his key contribution in the struggle of access and success. Lastly, which DUT is he registered in? I am seeking this clarity because I happen to know all current DUT SRC members which Cde SAUS dept.Pres is not party of. Actually, I was present when they were 'inaugurated'. Beyond this, the last time I checked the cde was registered with the University of Johannesburg. Answers to my question could determine the points I wanted to make around SAUS and Sasco's (in) famous contribution to the recent congress. Forgive me comrades for asking these questions in this platforms, the thing is I currently have no capacity to access another quick and mass reaching means of communication other than this one. My worry with that structure is that it does not have absolute independency and the manner leadership is nominated, is not of the best interest of young people in South Africa but it's in the interests of the few minority. If all institutions can be affiliated to SAUS and then political parties stop interefering with it, then it would be very effective and be able to play its role properly. The reason student governance is collapsing in most institutions, it's because of unneccessary political intereference caused by those who are not in governance at the time. If comrades continue to further their terms of office by using other people to "front" for them, then thats were the problem would be.
