It is exactly things like this that makes us angry that we will have NSFSAS and Bursaries from Companies, Govern Departments and Municipalities. Year in year out Departments have roll overs of budgets on bursaries and you still have youth like Tsepo Sambo loitering with great matric symbols. Without blaming this young man, I strongly feel that we as society fail this younger brothers and sisters of ours by not providing this information.Fact that Schools have a responsibility to educate and also build on the confidence and entice interest in the development of communities in the learners in schools and not doing it, also contribute to a situation wherein you have many avenues of information provision about all of these career development opportunities like bursaries and they do not even go to those. Life Orientation in Schools must be prioritised as one of the important learning areas to deal with this challenge.
Tsepo should get application forms for Admission at any University or University of Technology and also apply for bursaries. He will be in a University by this time next year. If Tsepo lives in Nelspruit Area, he should then go to Nedbank Building at the Brown Street to Umsobomvu Branch and request to speak to the Career Counsellor she will provide him with application froms and assist him application process as well. I am also disppointed in Mr Makheyane, do you want to tell me that Ehlanzeni District Muncipality does not have these bursaries more so that most Municipalities need Engineers and here we have potential Engineers waisted. We are also losing a site in terms of how we approach these Higher Education and Further Education and Training oppporunities, Skills Development in the Country has been given a huge boost interms of budget to an extend that there are bursaries as well. We have serious shortages of Artisans but at the same time we have huge number of youth who are not in these FET Colleges. You go to Ehlanzeni College's Campuses in Mpumalanga, it is as if you have entered Mbabane College in Swaziland because 70% of Students are Swazi Nationals.
