Compatriots,
It should not be a foregone conclusion that this alliance is cast in
stone. It is important for the survival of all component members of the
alliance to maintain a strong individual identity within the collective.
In the recent past there has been vigorous ideological contestation
amongst the alliance partners. This was inevitable because the TM era
had characterized opposing views as being 'extra arrogant'. The renewal
and redefinition of political relations borne of the pre and post
Polokwane re-alignments and positioning should be allowed to run its
course.
A socialist agenda can only truly be advocated and sold when it is
translated through a strong mandate. It can not remain an elusive
intellectual debate if it is to be credible and legitimate. Those who
are advocating for any type of a revolution should plant the seed in the
minds of the masses and begging to unpack it through political
education.
Then it would need to be sold as a viable option and the responses
tested through the polls. This would also assist to dispel the myth
about a parasitic relationship between the ANC and SACP.
It is important for the ANC to make its own economic policy
pronouncements without fearing any lash backs from its partners as this
would be see as holding the ANC to ransom and be tantamount to political
black mail. Let us take advantage of the prevailing free political
atmosphere and begging to interact with the true stake holders in order
to advance any cause we seek to pursue in order to get a legitimate
mandate.

Subject: [YCLSA Discussion] Re: Cde David Masondo remarks at 2009 SASCO
NGC
Maqabane
I was emotional moved by the well crafted remarks of Cde David Masondo
during the 2009 SASCO NGC and I wish to place on record that much of
what
he said is true, but nothing but the truth.
Equally I am disturbed by his remarks on the alliance with special
reference to Western Cape and Free State Province.
He said the following disturbing comments:
However, there are still major problems at the provincial level with the
functioning of the Alliance, particularly in Western Cape and Free
State.
"People should understand that the SACP is not a begging party. The SACP
is a working class party. Therefore, if the relations between the SACP
and
ANC leadership in these provinces, we will encourage our SACP structures
to contest the next local government elections and the next general
elections at the provincial level".
I totally don't agree with this statement and I view it at as reckless
politically because it bothers on undermining the victory and progress
we
making as the party to transform the ANC, into a party that respect its
alliance partners.
How on this political cruel earth of capitalism can we even toy with the
idea of breaking away from the ANC led Alliance without figthing
tendencies that are synonimous with the era of Cde Thabo Mbeki, which is
side lining the alliance partner.
The political propspect of building a true ANC under Cde J Zuma led
collecive looks much more positive and we should not be discouraged by
minor cases in only two Provinces.
informed by his well nurtured progresive political orientation, I was
expecting Cde David to read out a political riot-act to all those who
are
busy undermining the importance of a well functioning political
alliance.
We should in actual fact refrain from making statements that insinuate
that this allaince is conditional.
Our is a tripartide alliance that should respect one another
independence
but equally that should have an equal say in how we govern our country
towards the creation of a better life uring freedom in our life time.
But am consoled by one belief that this alliance will not disintergrate,
we will shoulder all the problem and resolve them through open political
engagements.
With regard to the Free State Province I know that the ANC PEC is
progressively working to strengthen the alliance, I actually don;t know
why Cde David is refering to the Free State Province as a problem one.
Despite personal issues which I still believe can be resolved and are
not
political the allaince is well oiled in the Free State Province led by
Cde
Besani, Parkies and Mashinini as alliance secretariat.
It is only through engagement and respect for each other that we will
triumph over adversities towards a proper functioning tripartite
alliance.
Together as the progresive motive forces of the NDR we can do more to
improve our people living condition angainst the imperialist
onslaughter.
