Zelaya is back on the Nicaraguan side, waiting for his family and
supporters to arrive from Paraiso, Honduras, where, apparently, the
military has opened fire on some 3,000 peaceful supporters, wounding
two. Saw one guy on telesur with half his ear shot off.

A group of protesters has just arrived from the honduran side, but
the colonel in charge is standing firm, threatening Zelaya with arrest.

Looks like a standoff for the time being.

In a brief conversation with the telesur correspondent, Zelaya said
he is in communication with some advisors of the coup government, who
have told him quite frankly that they are unable to govern, that the
situation is beyond their control.

Hmm, perhaps Vasquez will choose not to return from his "prayer
meeting" in Miami.

"Zelaya, aguanta, el pueblo se levanta", is the chant of the moment.
