cid:[email protected] ____________________________________________________________________________ ____ TSHWANE REGION MEDIA STATEMENT To all: Editors/ Reporters 17 September 2009 ANC Youth League Tshwane Region Call for a change in the ANC Regional Leadership The ANC Youth League Tshwane Region is calling for a change to the ANC Tshwane leadership as we approach the ANC Regional Conference to commence on Friday, 18 September. The ANC Youth League together with other progressive organisations in the region has been observing a serious lack of political and organisational leadership from the current ANC Regional Executive Committee (REC). It is under this leadership that many key programmes of the ANC such as the organisational renewal and the Elections 2009 were neglected. The Alliance and the Leagues (ANC YL & ANC Women's League) in Tshwane has been ignored on all critical issues affecting the ANC including issues of governance. The issue of Youth Development also suffered greatly as it was not taken seriously by this leadership even when the Youth League has raised this issue with them. The Municipality today is in disarray and in a state of total collapse, due to the very same ANC leadership. We therefore feel strongly, that this leadership was out of touch with the reality required to lead the ANC and have failed dismally to provide leadership to the people and the membership of this mighty movement. Therefore for us, this leadership does not inspire confidence and as result must no longer be trusted with a huge political responsibility of leading the ANC in this Region. It is for this reason that in the spirit of reviving and strengthening the ANC in Tshwane, a new generation of leadership led by Comrade Kgosientsho Sputla Ramokgopa must given a chance to lead this organization.
