Cdes It is really worrying that the ANC NEC member in form of Masetla to go outside organisational channels to express his personal views about the state of the ANC under President Zuma's leadership. It is also regrettable and unfortunate that Billy Masetla speaks such poisonous things about the allaince.
However Masetla statements speaks volumes and indeed proves to be a wake up call for all of us who value this Allaince. What Billy Masetla said simply means that are elements within the NEC of the ANC who have fear of the ''Communist takeover/ rooi gevaar''. In my view the SACP and COSATU have neither sought to takeover or control the ANC but to influence its strategic direction in persuance of the National Democratic Revolution. Now we now find ourselves back in the era where Thabo Mbeki wanted to isolate other components of the allaince. It is worth noting that Masetla indeed had personal squabbles he wanted to settle against Mbeki but both these men share the same views about the allaince, to disregard the SACP and COSATU and treat these components as junior partners of the allaince while use them during election campaigns for the ANC. After elections both the SACP and COSATU are expected to go to COSATU House and keep quite so that the Maselta's of this world can govern and determine what the ANC does and equaly what the ANC led government does. If this is what Masetla expects of the SACP and Cosatu then He is living in a dream land, that will not happen. I believe that Masetla must account of such destructive and very disturbing public discourse on the ANC.He must equally apologies to the SACP and Costu. He must apologise to the Allaince for his divisive statements. Or does he now want to further the role of the 1996 class project. Masetla now threatens President Zuma to stamp authority over SACP and Cosatu leaders, whatever this means. Who is Billy Masetla to tell the nation that the ANC is being taken over by communist. If he does not value this strategic allaince, he must simply join the PAC. He must desist from taking us to the backward strand. I agree with cde Percy when he says "We shall be underestimating our enemy if we think that everyone who was a victim towards Polokwane is a custodian of our class struggle". Statements attributed to Masetla clearly illustrates indeed not everyone shares the same view on our class struggle and that the class project is not dead.We must continue to wage our struggle and know who is our enemy whether from outside or within our ranks. ________________________________ From: Percy Ndlala <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Sun, October 11, 2009 8:23:35 PM Subject: [YCLSA Discussion] Re: STATEMENT OF THE YOUNG COMMUNIST LEAGUE OF SA ON BILLY MASETLHA It is not surprising to note that in deed the history of the struggles of all hitherto existing societies is the history of class struggles...
