*YCLSA TO CELEBRATE THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF MATRICULANTS “CLASS OF 2009"!*

The Young Communist League of South Africa (uFasimba) calls on all
matriculants around the province of Gauteng to join its national leadership
as their will be celebrating the matric results achievements by the Class of
2009. This celebration should be understood and located within the broader
programme of the YCL in making sure that young receive quality public
education as encapsulated in the Joe Slovo Right to Learn Campaign.

During the year 2009, the YCLSA across the country has embarked on massive
campaigns as part of encouraging young people to study as part of acquiring
the necessary skills to safeguard and defend the democratic gains of 1994
and the ANC-Alliance commitments of providing free higher education for the
poor. The 2009 matric results signal a qualitative commitment from the youth
of our country in persuarance of a better life for all to excel academically
in the interests of the sacrifices made by the generation of Joe Slovo for a
free and democratic South Africa.

The national leadership of the YCLSA sees it befitting to celebrate this
year’s matric results with the youth of Diepsloot who have been in the
forefront of numerous class struggles as part of improving their living
conditions and a better future as envisaged in the Freedom Charter.

The celebration will culminate into an Exhibition on a variety of
opportunities that are available in institutions of higher learning and the
job market. The YCLSA will be joined by NYDA, University of Johannesburg,
NSFAS and other Youth organisations to showcase their programmes and courses
to the youth.

Keynote address will be delivered by the National Secretary Cde. Buti
Manamela
