ANC Youth League president Julius Malema has consolidated his power in
Limpopo after his protégé France Moswana topped the nomination list of the
ANCYL, to unseat current provincial chairperson Lehlogonolo Masoga.

By late yesterday, of the 417 provincial branches, Moswana had been
nominated by a staggering 350 branches, while Masoga was nominated by a
paltry 67 branches in five districts.

Masoga’s downfall was orchestrated by Malema, who campaigned to topple
Masoga in the elective conference.

The beef between Masoga and Malema was sparked by Masoga’s alleged claims
that the firebrand youth leader had frustrated his ambitions to be an MEC
in the Limpopo cabinet.

“Comrade Masoga must just pack his bags and go to his Sekhukhune home
because there is no way he is going to take any senior position of the
youth league again in the France Mohlala office of the ANC ,” said
Khotongo Mopai of the Peter Teanet branch of the ANC in Bolobedu.

Mopai said that whatever happened, Moswana would take over the reigns of
the youth league in the province.

But not all members have the same picture as Mopai in the tussle for the
leadership position in the province.

Headman Mkhari, chairperson of the ANCYL in the Mark Shope sub- region in
Tzaneen, said the latest statistics did not justify the outcome of the
conference.

Mkhari, who is Masoga’s main foot-soldier, said his comrades were working
round the clock to make sure that Masoga was returned back to office to
serve his second term.

M asoga said he was confident to snatch the provincial top post for the
second time on April 4.

“Don’t be fooled by the results of the nomination branches because it is
individual candidates that are going to elect during the conference and
not the branches ,” he said.

Moswana could not be reached for comment .
