On 10th March 1910, Prophet Isaiah Shembe formed an African Church
referred to as Nazareth Baptist Church in the holy mountain Nhlangakazi.
This church was formed under difficult conditions of apartheid when Blacks
and Africans were not allowed to convene any gatherings worse the colour
of Shembe’s skin being Black. it was because spiritual motivation and
understanding of his task that he never surrender but continued under
those difficult conditions. He had to be arrested, beaten, insulted and
faced all sought of things because of being black. Of particular was
because he was transforming religion in South African since the then
religions were able to make people disregard their tradition and values.
We should wish all Nazareth happy 100 years and also wish them well in all
future endeavors. It was this Prophet that met with ISGUNGU Leaders to
discuss ideas of African Unity against apartheid. Those Leaders after two
year in 1912 formed a peoples’ parliament, liberation movement in South
African which we now call it an AFRICAN NATIONAL CONGRESS. It is in that
spirit that Cde Jacob Zuma; our President will address them on Sunday at
eBuhleni (Durban-iNanda)

God Bless all members of the Nazareth Baptist Church.
