[image: José Martí]Ana Sánchez, director of the Martí Studies Center, announced in a press conference that the anniversary to be commemorated this May 19 has as its preamble the "Martí in the Turquino Heights" exhibition, which is open in Havana’s Fragua Martiana. She said that the national event is to take place in the morning in Dos Ríos, Granma province and, in the evening, with a concert given by the Buena Fe duo in the same province. The Martí youth movement is also to re-cover the Martí route from Playita de Cajobabo to Dos Ríos, involving 7,750 young people from that locality in eastern Cuba. Sánchez also announced a national Roundtable TV program on the Cuban national hero on May 19, and the Poetry in Martí and Lezama panel on May 29 hosted by the José Martí Cultural Society. The context was propitious for the launch of the "Dos Ríos and the ascent to immortality," reflections by Armando Hart Dávalos, director of the National Martí Program. Hart’s dissertation refers to significant moments in the life and works of the most universal of Cubans and emphasizes the importance of younger generations studying his thinking.
