*YCLSA ON THE POSSIBLE PAROLE OF CLIVE DERBY-LEWIS* *23 JUNE 2010*
The Young Communist League of South Africa (uFasimba) has learnt with utter dismay and disgust on the parole application of Clive Derby Lewis which is taking place today. It is not so long ago that this man brutally murdered the Late Cde. Chris Hani, who was the General-Secretary of our movement- the South African Communist Party. Clive Derby Lewis has conveniently forgotten the ramifications of his actions and how it almost created war within our country. His application is totally opportunistic and should be opposed virulently by all South Africans and Progressive forces of our Mass Democratic Movement. The YCLSA has been consistent on the call for an inquest into the tragic death of Cde. Chris Hani and it seems to have fallen on deaf ears. The release of Clive Derby Lewis will be a lost opportunity to find out the truth as to what transpired and who the other culprits involved were. His release will be a travesty of justice and affirmation that our justice system still continues to serve and protect the minority.
