The college is a source of nurses to rural hospitals and clinics around NW and
nearby provinces. I visited on hospital in Taung and was not satisfied with the
service, even though the personeel tried their best. We need an urgent
intervention to this matter. This is a direct contradiction to health
charter, only if students are correct and faithful to themselves.

Re-open the college MEC
,you are not assisting the poor people. Closing a health institution will never
be the solution.

Subject: [YCLSA Discussion] Disgracing MEC.

Greetings Maqabane. Students in
Mmabatho Nursing College has boycoted the studies for quite sometime, since
June 08 until to date. Their call
is, they should be repaid their boarding and lodging fees, which were deducted
during the closure of the College in December last year or rather vacation
leave. However in January 2010, the
agreement between the 2 parties (management and the student) were made clear
that in no time the fees will be paid, but since then the management has been
silent about the agreed upon matter.
Furthermore, they've (students) lodge the two complains, firstly:
Given that their uniform allowance is worth R1600 p.a, the were given the
uniform of which its value is far-less than the expected allowance.
With no doubt they've never hesitated to
return the so-called uniform. The second and the last matter is the one
concerning the maintainance of a College.
The students were forced to demand 2 of things well known as
basic services, water and electricity. Management has often fail to pay Eskom
bills and water supplyers, No reason were bought forward, for why the payment
was not done! And in so doing the services were cut at the College, in return
the students become the 'victims of circumstances', Of which, the whole thing
is informed by maladministration, incompetency and capitalism.
This is how the system of capitalism operate comrades.
                                               *Letters of eviction*
MEC of Health Department and Social
Development, in NW, Cde Kasienyane, yesteday pitch at the College, according to
her, her intention was to intervene to an ongoin study-boycote. But to my
surprice it turn to something contrary.
She just came and issued letters to students, Nothing was sober
about its contents, dated July, 09, 2010, it read as follows:
''URGENT NOTICE- The MEC for Department of Health and
Social dev. Has taken a decision to close down Mmabatho Nursing College after
numerouss attempts to reach out to students failed to resolve the problem.
                                                The College is therefore closed
with immediate effect and all students must leave or vacate the premisers of
the College by no lives than 16H00 today friday 09 July 2010...Cde Kasienyane
wrote.'' Then comrades,
you tell me how to justify this matter? I belief there is no need to justify
incompetency and lack of leadership qualities.
                   Amandla.
