*YCL: Jansen lapdog of Afrikaner clique at UFS* *Evans Mukhuthu, The Times, Johannesburg, 12 August 2010*The Young Communist League (YCL) is the latest political organization to voice concern over Free State University vice-chancellor Professor Jonathan Jansen's conduct
Earlier the South African Students Congress labelled Jansen as "nothing but cosmetic make-up, sent to reverse transformation at the university".
This follows Jansen's suspension of 20 SRC and Sasco aligned students from campus after their protests disrupted inter-varsity games at the campus.
The YCL says it's concerned by the apartheid tactics which the vice-chancellor has opted to resort to in order to shut down student voices on campus.
"It's ironic and disappointing that the first black Vice chancellor appointed in the UFS is responsible for the victimisation of the first black SRC president, democratically elected on this lily white campus."
The YCL has called for the immediate resignation of Professor Jansen and the entire senior management of UFS.
