Cdes lets commend the YCL branch of UJ Bunting road campus for condeming the contestation between YCL and SASCO in the university ofr Zululand. I also wish to urge the UJSRC to consult with relavant structures, students and the PYA in starting with fee negotiations, because if they do not do so they will find themselves with no any form of support and that may compromise them. Realy they need to consult with students, they are elected by students they should take a mandate from students, if they so wish to proceed, then the question will be where did they got the mandate, who are they representing, for what modus operandi and as informed by which contructive argument.
My view is that i fully agree with the statement released by YCL of bunting and my understanding is that this statement seeks to suggest that the UJSRC is not a solemate structure to proceed on fee negotiotions, without the know how of students and PYA inputs. The UJSRC is not a superficial struture of university management, but rather a superstrucure of students. It is in this regard that i urge this comrades to stop fee negotiations and consult relavant structures and students first. In fact is is suprising that this SRC even went to an extend of undermining the structure that deployed them thereby starting to negotiate on fee increase, without any lucritive knowledge on the economical impetus and tactics used by management of that university. CDES MUST STOP NEGOTIATING AND CONSULT FIRST Amandla Lazarus Masilo Maunatala Aukland Park ________________________________ From: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Wed, September 15, 2010 2:07:26 PM Subject: [YCLSA Discussion] YCLSA UJ APB BRANCH The statement of Young Communist League APB Branch 15 September 2010 The YCLSA in the University of Johannesburg bunting road campus would like to join forces and condemn the killing of a school leaner during the protest against writing end year exams without being given enough time to finish their syllabus and preparation. We are calling comrade Engie to do justice to our basic education. We are calling SASCO leadership to pronounce without fear their stand on the matter, this is because children in the former model C schools and Rwanda (rural and township schools) schools will be contesting for the same space in tertiary institutions next year 2011.as the YCL we fear that our universities will be reduced to be universities for the children of the elite. We call order to university of Zululand SASCO and YCL branches for contesting each other during this year SRC elections. We are calling them to unite and fight the war lords of SADESMO who will do nothing to advance NDR and the freedom charter. The YCLAS APB has noted with contempt that there is a change in terms of DVC student affairs in the university. We desire the view of UJSRC on the matter. We also understand that fee increment negotiations are in a process of being finalised and students and PYA structures have never been consulted. We also like to inform members that the branch will be going to AGM soon this month.
