SACP NORTH WEST TO MARCH AGAINST CORRUPTION
Tuesday, 19 October 2010

The South African Communist Party in the North West province will be
marching against corruption this coming weekend. The march is part of
the national campaign of the SACP and Congress of South African Trade
Unions (COSATU) to fight against corruption in all its manifestations.

Recently, the Auditor General report indicated that millions of public
funds have been mismanaged and improperly used by a number of the
provincial government departments in the North West, therefore it is
now an open issue that our provincial government does not seem to do
enough in dealing with corruption.
Corruption, maladministration and mismanagement of public funds
remains in our view a serious problems that hampers on service
delivery that is why we think RED CARDING of corruption in this
province should be key in our struggle to better the lives of our
people.

Amongst tendencies identified by the South African Communist Party,
especially within government department are the flawed tendering
systems which we believe requires drastic improvements so that we are
able to empower our people and our communities.

As the SACP in the North West province we equally believe that the
lack of a consistent and highly committed political leadership creates
direct or indirect conducive conditions for white collar criminals to
continue to steal public funds without any fear.
We think we should further clarify the fact that our march is not
targeted towards the ANC as an organization but towards the state on
its failure to live up towards a clean government.

The march will unfold as follows:
Date: Saturday, 23 October 2010
Venue: Matlosane Municipality, (Klerksdorp)
Time: 09h00

The march will be addressed by the national leaders of the SACP and
COSATU including our Alliance partners the ANC and SANCO. The
provincial leadership of the SACP will as well address the public more
in details regarding this campaign.
