Subject: [YCLSA Discussion] Statement of the Third SASCO NEC Meeting

Cde LAzola

As leaders of Sasco you must come with ways on how are we going to
solve this issues. This statement "We are convinced that the reason
for these contestations is the fact that SRC's sit in tender
committees in Universities and that Tenderpreneurs from both the ANCYL
and YCL want to capture SRC's in order to drive their accumulation
agenda" You are very analysis are very narrow and petty to say the
least. You are really reducing the Ancyl and YCl.

I for one belong in a campus where Sasco is no longer a student
political organisation, it’s an animal that we don’t know. Sasco has
been reduced to a society of friends and it no longer push for the
interest of students but what the group of friends feel is right for
the students. We sit in meetings and resolve and the following day we
are told that they "group of friends" have decided not to honour the
resolution. So if the Ancyl and the YCL exists in such campuses what
must they do? Must they sit back and allow Sasco to continuously being
used. No those cdes who contest Sasco just because they want power
using the YCL and YL are very wrong, but I fully support those who
contest Sasco so that the interest of the poor students can be pushed.

We see a situation in branches especially in Tshwane where cdes are
pushed to be in BEC's and REC’s so that they can deliver their
handlers to upper structures. Do you want us to keep quiet and allow
this group of friends to use the banner of Sasco and win elections and
after that forget about poor students and use the money of SRC to
please their friends, Cde Lazola and Cde Mandlane no ways?
Contestations must continue as long as we are experiencing such.
The REC does not want to intervene in branches because they have
ambitious of going to upper structures; even if we complain to the PEC
we are ignored. We are not stupid we see what is happening.

We have witnessed these things in my branch and its saddening; we use
to belong to a branch that cares about poor students now it’s all
about friendship. I will not follow Sasco blindly but will support any
component of the Pya that push for the best interest of students.

I hope you are going to come up with better ways on dealing with these
issues not what you just released its feeble to say a least. You have
really insulted both the YCL and Ancyl with your narrow analysis. I
hope the NGC will provide leadership to the NEC.

I am a proud member of Sasco in good standing by the way and equally
of the YL and YCL.
