POPCRU welcomes the Sowetan Public Opinion Results on the “R700 000 Party”
matter
POPCRU has noted the outcomes of the public opinion conducted by SOWETAN on the
01st November 2010 on the conduct of Mr. Kunene on the splash of moola and
super
exploitation of young women in the name of displaying wealth, whilst the
majority of our people are living in squalor and poverty. The question was do
you agree on the crass spending of R700 000 on the party and eating sushi off
the body of a half-naked woman?
It was candid of COSATU to have made a mark to deplore such negative
developments in the restoration and humanizing our citizenry. The majority of
participants registered a 51% score card that “its one thing to be rich, but to
indulge like that while people are starving is wrong”. Only a handful of
people,
with 35% were registered and supported a view that says “Why is Kunene being
singled out?” And 14% agreed that it was his right to flaunt his wealth.
It is confirmed that the majority of our people are pissed off with these ugly
and pompous display of financial obesity.
