POPCRU wishes Communication Workers Union a successful National Congress
POPCRU joins the millions of the workers of South Africa to wish Communication
Workers’ Union vigorous engagements and comradely debates for its 4th National
Congress held under the Theme “Building Communication Workers Union to Advance
Job Creation, Decent Work and Socialism” in Kwazulu-Natal from the 31st
Jan-02nd
February 2011.
We welcome the great struggles fought by the most progressive Trade Union
organizing in the Communication Industry throughout the years, including
amongst
others, the vibrant struggle on raising the importance of corporate governance
matters and non-partisan coverage of events by the SABC, condemnation of
blacklisting of some political analysts during period of the pre-Polokwane era
and also its fight against corruption in their sector.
We wish the membership and the collective leadership well in its entrenchment
of
a principle of the Federation, respect for Worker Control and look forward
towards Resolutions to build working class hegemony within the communication
industry in particular and the working class in general.
