There is a reason why a CP forms a YCL- it's because young people need their own organizational forms. Not just so they get experience in being leaders but because they need their own space so they can better develop ideologically. It's no accident that every generation faces different problems, and, therefore, responds differently to class and other struggles. Undoubtedly, it is more trouble and takes more work to moderate two forums - but combining the two, especially at a time when young people are exploding into creative action and ideological development, would be a disservice to the youth--and thus to the future. I would urge you to find ways to keep both forums. From what I can see by keeping up with the CC forum, moderating that forum is a huge amount of work. Someone from the YLC needs to step in and give a hand to the YCL forum. I would like to hear from YCL members on this issue; after all, it is their forum that might be eliminated. Therefore, their opinions are the most important ones. Are they taking up the issue on the YLC forum? My view has been formed from my experience in the USA, but I think it is applicable to SA. I have great admiration for your work in SA, so please take this message as a humble plea from a concerned foreign observer. -- You are subscribed. This footer can help you.
