Very deep and sober indeed Cde Karl. What I appreciate the most is the fact this space (i.e. critiquing Jimmy's absurd comments) is taken by our own comrades instead of letting the reactionary DA have a field day on such matter for their own ends.
For those of us who have been activists in the Western Cape we have since about 2005 seen a complete abondment of the ANC's values of unity and non-racism propagated by comrades within the NLM. In this regards a particular perspective manifested itself as a very narrow Africanist tendency whose effect has seen the ANC loosing the City of Cape Town as well as the Provincial Government of the Western Cape. I think that the perspective of the current leadership seeks to return the ANC to its founding principles and values and a lot of work has gone into that. Now comments such as these from Manyi cannot help the MOvement to rebuild itself particularly in that province. Clearly he cannot be the face and mouth of this ANC government. Comradely, Thembela.
