The use of open letter to communicate messages is prudent in a revolution where upon an intention is to expose the misdemeanours of the regime such that people can see what it actually the rot of the system. In essence open letters ought to be used to strengthen the organisation as opposed to bring about the state of paralysis. We remember how the Manchu regime used to employ the tactics of mass media which included open letters to mock and paint in an ugly light the impending revolution waged by the Chinese people led by amongst others Mao Tse Tung. At the end it all the same media was used to bring into surface the truth about the Japanese imperialist and their Chinese collaborators. Open letters should not be used to boost ones ego more so at the advent of massive presence of predators whose tongues are wagging to dip the glorious movement in the next elections. As I have mentioned in my posting to the Communist University; the culture of open letters may prove detrimental if used recklessly to perpetuate public spats. Organisational platforms are in place to iron out differences especially of sensitive nature as race, culture or belief. We have a huge task to educate our nation to overcome this childish prejudice emanating from the aforesaid. We cannot begin to hope to build a nation whilst our people are entrapped in such differences and thus the ANC must lead and refrain from burning the house to kill the mice, instead it must look and search and kill the mice to spare the house...
