Dear colleague,
Last September SAVUSA, VU University Amsterdam's South Africa
Institute, received two candidates for the opportunity the SKILL
programme (www.savusa.nl<http://www.savusa.nl> à SKILL programme) offers
for junior university staff to follow a complete master in the
Netherlands. There are still places within the programme for candidates
to start this September!
SKILL offers the opportunity for junior university staff members of
Historically Disadvantaged Groups without a master's degree to obtain
this degree at a Dutch university. The SKILL programme offers funding
for their travel to the Netherlands, their stay and the tuition fee. The
programme offers funding for the replacement at the South African
university as well.
The master's degree may be in any academic field, there are no
restrictions on this point. The only requirements regarding the master
are the entry requirements set by the Dutch university offering the
master's degree.
A successful application with a Dutch university can only be accepted
for the SKILL programme provided replacement at the South African
university is arranged! This replacement cannot be filled by a current
colleague, the replacement must be filled by someone liaised to the
faculty solely for that purpose.
As the number of places on offer is limited and the application
deadline of April 1st is approaching, we would kindly like to ask you to
encourage possible candidates to apply!
The participating universities for this year are: Wageningen University
and Research Center (www.wur.nl/uk<http://www.wur.nl/uk>), Delft
University of Technology (www.tudelft.nl/<http://www.tudelft.nl/>),
Maastricht University
(www.maastrichtuniversity.nl<http://www.maastrichtuniversity.nl>)
and VU University Amsterdam (www.vu.nl/en<http://www.vu.nl/en>).
If a candidate plans to apply for a master's degree, he/she must first
inform SAVUSA. SAVUSA will then assist with the replacement
arrangements.
We hope to welcome new candidates starting their complete master's this
September!
Warm regards,
Neeria
