Comrades

1. Firstly let me applaud SAMWU for coming out without fear or
favour in defence of its membership and the Working Class. The below
statement by SADTU clearly indicate the effects of Trade Union
bureaucracy and the pure embrace of capitalism. This labour bureaucrats
do their level best in words and deeds to demonstrate to the so called
democratic state how reliable and indispensable they are in peacetime
and especially in time of war with capitalists. They continue to
seasonally transform unions into organs of the state.

2. Failing to provide proper analysis of foreign imperialist which
dominates our National State and insofar as it is able, with the
assistance of internal reactionary forces against revolutionaries and
replace them with outright fascist dictatorship. In this epoch one can
draw conclusion that trade unions cease to be trade unions in the
current juncture.

3. In the absence of workers democracy there cannot be any free
struggle for influence over trade union membership as it has been done
currently. And because of this, the chief arena of work for
revolutionists within the trade unions disappears. The primary slogan
for this struggle should remain as a complete and unconditional
independence of the trade unions in relation to capitalist state and
profoundly opposed to labour aristocracy employed by SADTU bureaucrats.

Subject: [YCLSA Discussion] SADTU: Racism has no place in SADTU

SADTU Media Statement, 11 March 2011

Racism has no place in SADTU

SADTU wishes to distance itself from utterances allegedly made by
Johannesburg Central Chairperson Moss Senye at a meeting in Soweto
yesterday. According to media reports, Senye allegedly called Gauteng
Education MEC Barbara Creecy a satanist and urged members not to align
themselves with whites because they would be tainted with satanism.

If such a statement was made, it is indeed, highly regrettable. SADTU is
a non-racial organization and would therefore not advocate for any of
its members to distance themselves from any racial grouping. Racism has
no place in SADTU.

The national office of SADTU will today instruct the Gauteng provincial
executive to investigate the matter and provide a full report on the
context under which the alleged statement was made.
