The war of words between Shivambu and Cosas president Bongani Mani erupted after Mani announced that Cosas would not back Julius Malema for a second term as Youth League president. ‘Floyd is a nobody, he has never been an activist in the struggle, or in Cosas for that matter. We first saw him in Mangaung (in the Free State, where Malema was elected in 2008),’ Mani said. And on the personal front, Shivambu’s heavily pregnant Morning Live weather presenter lover Andile Masuku wanted to keep the lid on the identity of the father of her unborn baby. But today Sunday World can reveal that the Youth League spin doctor is the father of her unborn child. We can also reveal that the two lovebirds are living together in Rivonia, north of Jozi. Our sources say Shivambu did not want to be known as the sire because he was afraid nosy newshounds would turn his private life into tabloid fodder. “He is a politician and doesn’t want his private life to hog tabloid headlines. It’s a pity that the secret is out in the public domain,” says one source. Another source says Shivambu and Masuku bumped into each other at the wedding of Mpumalanga tycoon Robert Gumede last year. “She was there to interview guests. He was one of the guests she interviewed and she stole his heart. “I must say it was love at first sight as Andile was completely blown away,” says the source. Shivambu confirms that Masuku, who has a sprog from a previous dalliance, is carrying his bambino. “It’s a different feeling and I can’t wait to be a father, ”he says. The tough-talking politician says her gynaecologist told them to expect a girl after Masuku had an ultrasound scan.
