*CWU IS CERTAIN WITH ANC LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTION VICTORY*

*31 March 2011***

The Communication Workers Union (CWU) wishes to join our federation, Cosatu,
in urging all the workers in all the sectors to go all out and ensure an
absolute ANC victory in the forthcoming Local Government Elections on 18 May
2011. A vote for the ANC is a vote for better life for all. The ANC Victory
is certain.

CWU is also calling on all disciplined members of the ANC, Cosatu and the
vanguard of the working class, the SACP to maintain maximum discipline at
all times during this period and isolate those who undermined and continue
to undermine the decisions taken by the leadership of the ANC during the
nominations processes which we were all active participants as alliance
partners. The ANC led alliance will remain central and its decisions must be
respected and abided by all and sundry without any exception.

We have seen foreign tendencies in some provinces and regions (of the ANC)
were people were toyi-toying because their preferred candidates did not make
it in the list. Disciplined members of our Mass Democratic Movement will be
inspired by what the great philosophers like Chairman Mao said: *“One
requirement of Party discipline is that the minority should submit to the
majority. If the view of the minority has been rejected, it must support the
decision passed by the majority. If necessary, it can bring up the matter
for reconsideration at the next meeting, but apart from that it must not act
against the decision in any way”.*

CWU calls all its members to make sure that they mobilise all friends,
families, neighbours and other workers in the country for the landslide
victory of the ANC.

*Victory Is Certain!***
