Comrades,

The article by Mzukisi Makatse in the "The Times" newspaper of today, 6th April
2011 is in nature a "Generic" of political literature.

Since everyone is aware of the so- called struggle within the ANCYL for the
leagues Commander-in-Chief position, I am not at all shocked by the baffling
manner in which the article was written and the editors use of his prerogative
to publish the article, since the article seems to be rubbishing one individual
and glorifying the other while in the process it might saw seeds of division.
If the article had a correct study which could help rid the party of any
malaise, I doubt if it would have seen its day on print but because it purports
factionalism and division within a party and advances the aims of the prophets
of doom, that is why it made its way on page 19 of the "Times" today.

Comrade Lenin on his speech of 19 January, 1921 on "The Party Crisis" says: "
The Party is sick. The Party is down with the fever" Looking at the quote and
the steps taken by Mzukisi Makatse(maybe he is Justice Malala's apprentice, who
knows!), Lenin's statement rings true in our minds. He(Lenin) further says :
"What is it that needs to be done for a rapid and certain cure? All members of
the Party must make a calm and painstaking study of 1) the essence of the
disagreements and 2) the development of the Party struggle. A study must be
made of both, because the essence of the disagreements is revealed, clarified
and specified (and very often transformed as well) in the course of the
struggle, which, passing through its various stages, always shows, at every
stage, a different line-up and number of combatants, different positions in the
struggle, etc. A study must be made of both, and a demand made for the most
exact, printed documents that can be thoroughly verified. Only a hopeless idiot
will believe oral statements. If no documents are available, there must be an
examination of witnesses on both or several sides and the grilling must take
place in the presence of witnesses". Yes we have witnessed most of Julius
Malema's pronouncements on tv and print, whether quoted out of context or
otherwise, but an article of this nature by this person of Mzukisi who claims
to be a member of the ANC and the ANCYL peeves me off as it breeds the doctrine
of factionalism!

To obviate such undesirable altercations in public we must align ourselves with
what Lenin has said in the above quote because failure to do that will be
obstruction of the implementation of democracy and party programs. While we
encourage independent ideological and critical thought within party structures
as functionaries we should be wary of petty-bourgeoisie tendencies such as that
displayed by Mzukisi Makatse in "The Times" today.

Amandla!

                                                 "Sent via my BlackBerry"
